ADDITION TO BLUE VALLEY LUTHERAN HOMES WILL MORE THAN DOUBLE ITS SIZE
Released On: October 9, 2008

Construction has begun on a 30,000 square foot addition which will more than double the size of the Blue Valley Lutheran Homes assisted living facility in Hebron.

According to Mark Benjamin, president of BD Construction in Kearney, the project will add 2 studio and 23 one-bedroom apartments to the existing 16 and create a central courtyard in the process. “These are very attractive units, each with its own full bathroom and kitchenette,” Benjamin said. “Blue Valley Lutheran Homes has given a great deal of thought to the comfort and convenience of the people who will live here.”

Benjamin said the new addition will also include a main dining room with an adjacent commercial kitchen, as well as a billiards room, chapel, barber and beauty shop, and a small ice-cream parlor. There will also be a generous lobby and common area with vaulted ceiling and sunny clerestory windows. For family gatherings and other uses, a smaller, private dining room will also be available.

The Blue Valley Lutheran Homes addition is expected to be completed by September 2009, Benjamin said.
