BD Construction Completes Construction at The Prairie Club
Released On: June 8, 2010

BD Construction, Inc., of Kearney, Nebraska, one of the Midwest's leading construction companies, announced today the upcoming ribbon cutting for The Prairie Club lodge and golf course. The ribbon cutting will be held on June 11, 2010, beginning at 9:00 am CDT, near Valentine, Nebraska, with Governor Dave Heineman and Paul Schock, founder and president of Destination Golf Ventures, LLC, who will speak about the execution, creativity and unique design that went into constructing The Prairie Club. The Prairie Club officially opened its courses on May 31, 2010.

Created with the intention of delivering a pure, prairie-style golf experience, The Prairie Club currently consists of two championship-length, eighteen-hole golf courses, the Pines and Dunes; one par three, ten-hole course, the Horse; and an exquisite lodge sitting just yards away from the edge of the Snake River.

“Our mission is to touch the soul of the golfer by creating unforgettable memories through a world-class golf experience?BD Construction has helped us accomplish that,” stated Schock. “This construction of the lodge ran smoothly and was completed on-time. They have been a tremendous partner to work with in many ways.”

The 40,000-square-foot lodge includes a restaurant and lounge, locker room, golf shop, conference room, golf cart storage and lodging. Each external cabin includes bedrooms, a living room and a porch for enjoying the incredible views this amenity has to offer.

“The Prairie Club Lodge is a unique design-build project, not only because of its prime location in the Snake River Canyon, but also because of how the architecture is aesthetically designed to fit the environment and geographical elements of the area,” stated Mark Benjamin, president and CEO of BD Construction. “This is truly the premier destination golf resort in Nebraska.”

The Dunes course was designed by PGA professional golfer and golf course architect Tom Lehman and golf course architect Chris Brands. Its six sets of tees stretch from 5,842 to 8,073 yards. The Pines course, designed by Graham Marsh, an internationally renowned touring golf professional, takes advantage of the remnants of a nearby, ancient ponderosa forest situated along the banks of the Snake River Canyon. This course features five sets of tees ranging from 5,329 to 7,528 yards. The Horse was created to challenge the golf lover's short game and imagination, bringing the game of “Horse” to a new level. Tee boxes do not exist on this 485 to 1,125 yards of green golf course, so it's up to the one with honors to call where the ball is teed up. Plans for a third, eighteen-hole course, “Old School,” are set to being in 2011.

The Prairie Club invites the public to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony and enjoy a round of golf (regular green fees apply) as tee time availability exists.
