BD CONSTRUCTION BEGINS REMODEL AND EXPANSION ON BRODSTONE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IN SUPERIOR

BD Construction, design-build and construction management specialists in Kearney, Nebraska, has begun work on the Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior, Nebraska. The project will include a remodel and expansion of the current hospital, adding a total of 21,500 square feet.

The hospital will feature a new clinic, laboratory and MRI and CT room. The new clinic will replace the original clinic built in the 1970?s and will include six specialty exam rooms, an increase from the four rooms they currently have. In addition, BD Construction will remodel the cardiopulmonary, diagnostic and imaging areas. Along with the new space, the hospital will be adding new MRI and CT equipment. The expansion and remodel is expected to be completed in fall 2010. Partial funding for the project is made possible by the USDA and Thayer County Bank.

“Any time this type of diagnostic equipment is added to a hospital it requires a special type of construction,” stated BD Construction President, Mark Benjamin. “There have been two years of planning and preparation put into the remodel and expansion to ensure that everything is done correctly, and to utilize the existing space to the best of our ability. I believe the remodel and expansion will be a very nice addition for the community.”

“The remodel and expansion will allow for the hospital to increase the quality of healthcare in the area,” stated Brodstone Memorial Hospital Chief Financial Officer, Sandy Borden. “This will bring better healthcare opportunities to Superior and the surrounding communities.”
