BD CONSTRUCTION BREAKING GROUND ON
FAITH CHRISTIAN SCHOOL
Released On: May 15, 2009
BD Construction of Kearney, Nebraska, will break ground on
Faith Christian School on Tuesday, May 19, at 4:00 pm. The non-denominational K-8 school
will be located northwest of 17th Avenue and 56th Street in Kearney.
Construction on the school will start this summer. The completed structure will look
different than any other school or building in Kearney – the shape and design of the building will
have a modern appearance with a retro twist. The building project will include an initial 12,500
square feet of classrooms, administration offices, multipurpose room, conference room, library,
and computer lab, along with a playground and athletic field. The building will also have a
12,500 square foot unfinished basement to allow for future expansion. Construction will be
completed by the 2010-2011 school year.
“The new building will provide a positive, Christian learning environment for the children,”
stated Andy Falk, head teacher. “The school will include additional space for the classes, yet
the student/teacher ratios will still remain small, approximately 15:1. We are looking forward to
being an educational role model in the community.”
Previously, classes for Faith Christian were held in local churches, so students will have
their own school building for the first time. In addition, the building will give the school its own
identity and more visibility in the community.
