LODGE CONSTRUCTION
STARTING AT THE PRAIRIE CLUB
Released On: April 22, 2009
BD Construction of Kearney, Nebraska, has started construction
on the lodge at The Prairie Club near Valentine, Nebraska. The Prairie Club will consist of two 18-
hole championship golf courses, the Pines and Dunes courses; a 10-hole par 3 course, the Horse
course; a state-of-the-art practice facility; along with The Prairie Club Lodge. The lodge will sit just
yards away from the edge of the Snake River, affording incredible vistas of the canyon and the
sandhills of Nebraska.
Mark Benjamin, president of BD Construction Inc./Kearney, said the 40,000-square foot
Prairie Club Lodge will include a restaurant and lounge, locker room, golf shop, conference room,
golf cart storage and lodging. When completed, lodging will consist of 26 lodge rooms as well as
cabins adjacent to the lodge. Each external cabin will include bedrooms, a living room and a porch
for enjoying the incredible views.
“The Prairie Club Lodge is a unique project, not only because of its location in the Snake
River Canyon, but because the architecture is aesthetically designed to fit the environment and the
geographical elements of the area,” said Benjamin. “It will be a magnificent oasis on the prairie when
completed.”
According to Rick Fretland, Director of Golf at The Prairie Club, “The facility will be
harmonious with nature, yet fit the needs and desires of our clientele.”
The Prairie Club is scheduled to open to the public on May 1, 2010. The mission of The
Prairie Club is to create lasting and soul-touching memories for all who journey to The Prairie Club.
The Prairie Club is being developed by Destination Golf Ventures, LLC. The founder and president
of Destination Golf Ventures, Paul Schock, leads in the development of remote golf venues whose
