(Kearney,Neb.; December 4, 2015) — Rick Pettit of Kearney received the 2015 Mentor Award fromthe Associated General Contractors Nebraska Building Chapter.

The Mentor Award honors Pettit, a senior superintendent at BD Construction Inc., for being a front-line manager who inspires and supports the professional growth of employees and inspires each to reach their full potential.  Nearly all of BD Construction’s superintendents began and have grown in their roles under Rick’s guidance.

Pettit has worked with BD Construction since graduating from Kearney High School in1984, first as a basic laborer and later promoted to leadman and then foreman.  In his role as senior superintendent, Rick is responsible for managing subcontractors and suppliers, overseeing the project schedule and maintaining quality control and safety.  Pettit is currently assigned to the Horizon Middle School renovation project, which remains on time and on budget.
